Ian Younger Sixes 2007 - 23rd June

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Martie is looking for players for this year's Ian Younger Sixes. A few of us played last year and it was bloody good fun even though we didn't score any goals!

Like last year we will be playing as The Mighty Glasgow Rangers and will be taking on the likes of Partick Thistle, Queens Park and other big names! You can download the full fixture list if you want.

The football starts at 11am at The National Savings Bank Sports & Social Club, Cowglen.

The top two teams from each group will go into the quarter finals whilst the remaining teams will compete for the Plate (aka EUFA Cup).

Medals will be presented to the winners and runner up and there will be ten medals for both of those teams.

During the day the Social Club will be open and we will be running a barbecue. After the football finishes there will be a Football Quiz, presentations (including QPSFC's Player of the Year awards) and a party until 1am.

There is also a coach leaving Cambuslang (Buchanan Drive shops) at 9.30am and picking up at Holyrood Sports Centre, Citizens Theatre and City Centre and will also be returning about 1am after the evening finishes and dropping off at the same points. There may be a pick up/drop off point in Shawlands too if that's of any use to anyone - here's a map of where the venue is all the probably bus stops.

The cost is £40 per team so should be about a fiver per head and should be paid on arrival.

If you want to play then please let Martie know ASAP via email - martin.penman[AT]rbs.co.uk
